Hello! Hello!! Hello!!!
I need your attention! Your assistance is needed!
Spring is here and there is a lot of activity going on in your council. We need you to be
involved and participate. YES, you the Knight who has not been to a meeting or function in quite
some time - we need you! The sun is shining and it is time to get out of the house and get to our
meetings and functions now get moving!!
To start with April 6th on Good Friday, the “Pius Knights” will be reading the Stations
of the Cross. If you would like to read one of the stations please contact me. If not, please come
and be inspired.
On Sunday April 22nd come out and meet our RSVP** adopted seminarian James Rena
at our Annual Communion Breakfast. Our Chaplin Monsignor Domenick Graziadio will be
celebrating the 10:30 AM Mass and we will have breakfast immediately after in Madonna Hall.
The hall has the capacity of 180. I would like to see it 100% full. Wives, family members,
friends are all welcome. Bring a potential new knight! Contact Ralph Plaisance 516-581-6038
or rpcrescent@verizon.net
On June 7th our parish is having the 10th Annual Golf outing the “Pius Knights” are committed to
filling 2 tables; 20 people to attend the dinner. These golf outings are very important to our
parish, so please join us and enjoy the day or evening with us.
Our recent recruitment efforts were fruitful and afforded us some possible new members.
Please join us as when we take these gentlemen to their degrees, and show them our support and
camaraderie. The “Open House” afforded another avenue of opportunity for these men to join us!
This is where you are absolutely very much needed. Our Squires Circle is starting to
grow and we need members to become Counselors. Those men who will give guidance to the young
men. I ask you to please step forward. Our youth is our future we need you to be there to guide them.
Please contact me if you wish to be a Squires Counselor
On March 11th the Pius Knights and ‘Seniors Club’ had a farewell gathering for Father
Traci. Father Tarci was an integral and spiritual part of our parish community and he most
certainly will be missed. Before his departure he sent the “Pius Knights” a gracious thank you
note thanked all of us for this memorable and thoughtful occasion.
Saturday March 17th was Saint Patrick’s Day the St. Pius X Knights celebrated the
Feast Day with a great affair. We enjoyed a traditional meal of Corn Beef and Cabbage. We
were entertained by some wonderful young ladies preforming traditional Irish Dancing. I want
to extend my many thanks to Co-Chairmen Victor Orlando and Ray Alexander. Also, many thanks
to Anthony Corrente and all those who helped to make this a successful event.
In conclusion I need to remind everyone that our Christian Beliefs are under attack!
The moral fiber of our Nation is at an all-time low. God is being systematically removed from
out institutions. From the early colonial days many people came to this continent for religious
freedom. The constitution of this great country guarantees us religious freedom, but those
freedoms are being challenged. This is why an organization such as the Knights of Columbus
is so important today! More Than Ever We Need You!
If we stand together in unity we are a much stronger force. It will be much more
difficult for the secular progressives to succeed. Support the Knights, they are there to
support Our Church.
Connie and I want to wish all of our brothers and sisters in Christ a Blessed and Happy Easter.
Fraternally, Grand Knight Phil Saglimbene
